EBSA plan - with Charley Crowe & Lisa Lee

We are looking at delivering training to Secondary Schools on EBSA, this would be an after-school training session face to face and would last approximately 1.5hrs. We would require key members of SLT to attend, SENCO, Head of school, Head of years, leads on attendance, leads on behaviour.

Aims of training

What is EBNA (Emotion based non attendance) and why is it different for autism and those with social communication needs?

How to identify early signs of EBNA and steps to ensure early intervention.

How to develop school wide policy to ensure effective practice.

After attending both training sessions if required a solution focused consultation can be arranged on these dates:

• Risk factors for EBNA and protective factors
• Importance of Executive functioning
• Local and national guidance
• Consideration of the next steps for different stages of EBNA
• Formulate an action plan on next steps
