EBSNA Framework
Following a successful pilot of the EBSNA Framework in DSPL 6 and 9, we are delighted to now be able to share this useful tool across Hertfordshire.
Working Together for Improved Access to Education
Supporting the Identification of Factors Contributing to Reduced Access to Education
Providing Strategies to Support Reintegration to Full-time Education
- Reasons for emotionally based school non-attendance (EBSNA) are often varied and complex. This framework is intended to be an accessible way for schools to help identify the specific issues, so that professionals can collaborate with individual children and young people and parent(s)/carers using a systematic and transparent approach.
- The framework allows schools to share information about the factors contributing to reduced attendance, the systematic approaches planned or implemented, and the progress made towards increasing school attendance.
- This overview can be shared with the student, their parent(s)/carers, school leaders, Local Authority services, and other professionals who may support the student's needs.
- The framework helps identify patterns and effective whole-school strategies to support students' full-time access to education. These insights can be shared as whole-school data with the school community, Governors, the Local Authority, and Inspectors.
Hertfordshire Launch
- All schools and LSPs are invited to attend one of the four EBSNA Framework briefings taking place across June. Please see attached flyer for dates and teams links.
- Please share the flyer with any colleagues who may benefit from attending e.g LSAs, TA, Pastoral Leads etc.
- To support the participation and engagement of schools with this new document, Questions and Feedback sessions will run after the October half term. This will give schools an opportunity to ask any questions they have about the framework and share any information about how they have used it to identify and support CYP.
